What about a new awareness?

After a couple of instagram stories that I reposted,  in which I highlight the necessity to talk about the lack of emotional awareness in the wedding industry,  I’m compelled to put my thoughts into words.

In my life and in my professional career, the guidelines are simple: being Empathetic and Inclusive.

For me, Empathy is the ability to put ourselves in the shoes of someone else instead of judging. On the other hand, Inclusivity, is the decision we’ve made to give everyone the same conditions to feel welcome and comfortable next to us.

Those two premises will lead us to a third, Eclecticism (this is something I love). Because if you’re Empathetic and Inclusive, you will be more approachable and therefore will have the privilege of working with all types of Couples.

If my experience is accurate, aren't we failing as an industry? How many venues are ready to receive blind people? How many temples have the right accessibilities for wheelchairs and people with reduced mobility? How many of you have on your website, a questionnaire that fits same sex couples and heterosexual couples?

The urgence is real, and if you see yourself as a wedding industry professional, you must act!

Remember that being different and adaptable is what made us succeed as a species!

That means something, don't you think?

XOXO,

MIO
